How Online Learning Works

Image
Through online education, students around the world can experience U.S. education. Whether from home or local school, students can earn credentials that prepare them to achieve their goals for the future.

How Teachers Work with Your Student

Our U.S. based teachers work with students in a variety of ways depending on the teaching model selected. Teachers review work, grade assignments, and respond individually to each student’s questions. If live teaching is part of your course, your student will meet with the teacher over Zoom at a time convenient to your time zone.

The Online Advantage

Our courses are specially engineered to support online learning and build English proficiency. Technological tools are designed to support English Language Learning, including online glossaries, vocabulary learning apps, and speech readers.

The Parent’s Role

As a parent, you have an important role in online learning too. That's why we give you your own account in the Message Center and encourage you to log into the system regularly. You’ll be able to access regular progress reports, email teachers, and view grades.

How We Fit In

Students attend Columbia School in a variety of ways. Some students take courses in groups at their school. Others work at home at their own pace, with guidance from their online teacher. Those who need more support may select a format that provides live one-on one sessions with their teacher via Zoom. Whether taking a single course or completing a full Dual Diploma program, your child will benefit from U.S. based teachers who support each student’s learning.
