Yen Nhi also made friends with like-minded students in other countries, students who share the same dreams. Yen Nhi dreamed of attending college in the United States, and her hard work paid off: Yen Nhi gained acceptance to Adelphi University in New York.

Taking courses online helped Yen Nhi cultivate computer skills as well as concentration skills that will benefit her at university. Her favorite subject was Study Skills and Strategies, which expanded her understanding of how our brains process information. “This course took place in the summer and it was also when I felt the most lazy, but Mr. Morton used many ways to help us feel happy and alert.”

Yen Nhi credits the Dual Diploma Program with improving her time management skills. She can also speak more confidently now with people from other cultures. At university, Yen Nhi plans to study business. She shares, “My dream career is to run a small business, and if possible I also want to take more communication classes to gain more knowledge.” As a future entrepreneur, Yen Nhi understands that she must have certain skills in order to run a successful business. As a graduate of the Dual Diploma Program, Yen Nhi is prepared to thrive in higher education and career.
